This is the story of the crossing of the Red Sea. Moses’ great escape.
The Israelites were escaping from the slavery in Egypt. But Pharaoh’s army was hot on their heels.
They reached the Red Sea and felt trapped with nowhere to go. Moses, their leader trusted in God’s power, raised his staff over the waters.
Miraculously, the water parted creating a path through the sea. The Israelites hurried through the path amazed at the miracle.
Pharaoh’s army followed them into the sea determined to capture them.
Once all the Israelites were safe, Moses raised his staff again. The water return to their place swallowing Pharaoh’s chariots and soldiers.
The Israelites stood in awe realizing they were finally free from their pursuers. They celebrated their freedom with songs of joy and gratitude to God.
Their journey to the promised land had just begun filled with hope and faith.
