This is the story of a Jonah who was eaten by huge fish.

God called Jonah to go to the great city of Nineva and preach against its wickedness.

But Jonah was so afraid so he boarded a ship heading to the opposite direction to Tarshish.

As Jonah fled, a violent storm arose threatening to break the ship apart. The terrified sailors cast lots to find out who was responsible for the calmity.

The lot fell on Jonah. Jonah admitted that he was fleeing from the lord’s command and told the sailors to throw him in to the sea to calm the storm.

Reluctantly the sailors threw Jonah overboard and the sea immediately grew calm as Jonah sank into the depths.

A great fish sent by God swallowed him. From inside the fish, Jonah prayed to God repenting for his disobedience and thanking God for his mercy.

After 3 days and nights, the fish vomited Jonah onto dry land. Jonah was given a second chance.
